Karin Strobos

In May 2011 mezzo-soprano Karin Strobos got the chance to jump in as Ocatavian in the Rosenkavalier of R. Strauss by the National Opera in Amsterdam under the baton of Sir Simon Rattlle. This was a big success and the start of a wonderful career.
From January 2014 Karin works as a soloist in the Aalto opera theatre in Essen (Germany) and there she has the opportunity to build out her repertoire. She sings roles like Charlotte, Dorabella, Idamante, Zerlina, Cherubino, Mercedes, Suzuki, Rosina, Siebel, Armado, Hänsel, Aldagisa and more.  From 2009 till 2011 Karin had a contract with Opera Zuid (Maastricht), performing roles like Ocatvian, Cherubino, Hansel, Varvara and Boulotte. She came back in 2015 as Cenerentola.
Besides the Rosenkavalier Karin also worked for the National Opera in Amsterdam as Flora (La Traviata) and Phenice (Armide). For The Nederlandse Reisopera she sang Cherubino, Flora, Rosina and the Composer (Ariadne auf Naxos).  Besides opera Karin performed as a soloist with the Residentie Orkest, Noord Nederlands orkest, Nederlands Philharmonisch orkest, Philharnonie Zuidnederland and Gelders Orkest.
Karin loves to sing chamber music. She forms a trio with Daria van den Bercken, (piano) and Felicia van den End (flute). And also works with Sax and Stix and Cello8ctet Amsterdam. She has a duo with pianist Else Sterk.
